Regulations for the Driver of the Year Awards 2011

 

·         The awards to be made annually to the drivers in each class accruing the most points over a twelve month period by entering, organizing or marshalling on competitive events.  To commence ,this year, with the Spring Skills Event.

 

·         Competitors to be divided into two Classes as follows:-

 

Class 1.      Members driving Classic Vehicles governed by current FIVA guidelines.

 

Class 2.   Members driving any other vehicle. (This will be for a trial period for the duration of the competition for one year.  Qualification for this class may be revised thereafter to bring it more in line with the ethos of the Club)

 

·         Drivers may only accrue points in one or other Class for the year and may not swap between Classes. Drivers in Class 1 will also gain a small number of points by entering events organized by other Clubs. (e.g. FIVA rallies etc.)

 

·         Drivers entering more than one vehicle in an event must designate which vehicle being used will accrue points for DOTY when signing on at the beginning of the event. (Obviously this can only occur at “fixed” venue events, e.g. Skills)

 

·         Points to be awarded as follows:-

 

Entering a PCVC event                                                                            10 points

 

1st place in each Class                                                                               5 points

2nd place in each Class                   (min. entries in Class: 10)                    3 points

3rd place in each Class                   (min. entries in Class: 10)                    1 point

Wooden spoon                                                                                          1 point

 

Organising a competitive event                                                                15 points

 

Helping (marshalling) on a competitive event                                          10 points

 

Entry in an event with another Club                                                         5 points

(Proof of entry required).

The introduction of Class 2 means that all members may now compete

in all PCVC events regardless of whether their vehicle is a FIVA recognized “classic” or not.
